I am proud to present my U.S. map entitled The Fifty United States And Their Mottos, now available through a partnership with online printer iCanvas. They offer multiple sizes of ready-to-hang framed prints and canvas prints.
In addition to the U.S. motto map, each state and motto (including the District of Columbia), are available as an individual print in sizes up to 40×60 inches.
To create the U.S. map, I first carved each individual state in linoleum to create a relief print similar to a woodcut. I then printed each one and scanned them in the computer to create an original projection of the United States.
I have been offering the map for nearly a decade, and it’s been a constant source of conversation for me and my collectors, and a new way to view our united/divided country. It’s a reminder of where we came from and the history that shaped where we live.
Since its creation in 2008, The Fifty United States And Their Mottos map has appeared in a coffee table book Mapping America (Black Dog Press, 2010), been in The Guardian, and featured on the National Geographic Traveler blog. It also appeared prominently in a music video produced for PBS.
The map is now exclusively available online through iCanvas.
