Rain Light (2021)

Rain Light, November 1, 2021, 8:52 PM.

Man-made objects and urban landscapes can never escape a being part of the larger natural world. Rain + light + night is a kind of bioluminescent experience created by humans as we occupy these giant, glowing coral reefs we call cities.

There is a beautiful essay by Virginia Woolf called “Street Haunting”, and it’s essentially nature writing about walking the streets of London at night.

Listen to a 1961 audio recording of Woolf’s Street Haunting (27 minutes).
